Children of St. Luke’s National School, Tyrrelstown, were guided by artist Edel Clarkson in an exploration of local biodiversity and ceramic making. An initial investigation and imagining of local wildlife informed the design of ceramic pieces which will be installed on school grounds during a celebration on Saturday 10th of June, Cruinniu na nOg. Over the course of four weeks the children will learn about the work of this artist, and how to engage with nature through art. Practical workshops will focus on observational drawing, clay modelling, construction, and glazing techniques. Parents and the wider community will be invited to come together on Sat 10th to celebrate the installation of newly created ceramic artworks by the children and artist.
