Ms. Cullinan's and Mr. Lynch's class went on a tour to Kilmainham Gaol on Tuesday May the 16th 2023. We had been learning all about The Easter Rising of 1916 and the history of the jail in school and the tour and our wonderful tour guide David brought history to life for us during our visit. We visited the oldest sections of the jail dating all the way back to the 18th century as well as the East Wing. We saw the cells of the rebels like Padraig Pearse and Countess Markievicz as well as the Stonebreakers Yard. After our visit we took a stroll and a picnic in the gardens of IMMA across the road. It was an interesting and memorable day.
Happy Valentines Day

We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our Christmas concert with our families on Thursday the 15th of December.
There was great excitement with our Secret Santa this year and the children were delighted with the thoughtful gifts they received.
When the frost and ice finally let up we enjoyed a Santa Dash around the park. Happy Holidays!

Well-being Week September 2022
Poetry: Please Mrs Butler! September 2022
Fifth class enjoyed a giggle reading the poem Please Mrs Butler by Allan Ahlberg in September. They were inspired to write their own poems in a similar style and we got some very humorous results. Have a look at some samples below as well as the original poem itself.
Minibeasts September 2022
We have been learning all about the different categories of minibeasts in September. We explored the school grounds in search of minibeasts and discovered spiders, woodlice, wasps, craneflies, earthworms, slugs and many more.
We also created our own minibeasts from playdough.
