Festive Fun

Picture
We have had a wonderful festive December. We enjoyed making beautiful chalk Christmas tree and oil pastel hot chocolate drawings as well as creating beautiful Christmas lanterns.

We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our Christmas concert with our families on Thursday the 15th of December.

There was great excitement with our Secret Santa this year and the children were delighted with the thoughtful gifts they received.

When the frost and ice finally let up we enjoyed a Santa Dash around the park.

Happy Holidays!

2D Shape Chalk Challenge November 2022

5th Class brought their math outdoors this week to create some beautiful chalk artwork. Alongside our wonderful student teacher Ms. Mulvanny who is with us for November, they worked collaboratively on their group challenge to create bright chalk designs in the school garden, incorporating a variety of 2 shapes they have been learning about.

Halloween 2022

5th class enjoyed a variety of Halloween activities this year such as the Halloween Walkway quiz, writing spooky stories and sharing them with their classmates, reading Halloween poetry, playing Halloween themed games like Creepy Corners, Witch Tag and Goblins, Ghosts and Ghouls, creating beautiful Halloween art and of course the highlight was visiting the spooky room organised by our wonderful Parent's Association.

Visit to St Mary's Church and Holy Well October 2022

Ms. Cullinan's class joined Ms. Barrett and Mr. Lynch's classes on a walking tour to the ruin of St Mary's Church and Holy Well in Mulhuddart on the 10th of October. The sun was shining and children had an amazing day discovering their local history. Well done to all the boys and girls who were excellently behaved and made their teachers and their school very proud.

The children enjoyed a variety of activities during well- being week 2022. We reminded ourselves of what we are grateful for in our gratitude trees.

We enjoyed nature to boost our mood during our well- being walk in the local park.

We practiced yoga during our P.E session and in the classroom and reconnected with our classmates in some fun cooperative games.

Poetry: Please Mrs Butler!
September 2022

Fifth class enjoyed a giggle reading the poem Please Mrs Butler by Allan Ahlberg in September. They were inspired to write their own poems in a similar style and we got some very humorous results. Have a look at some samples below as well as the original poem itself.

Minibeasts September 2022

We have been learning all about the different categories of minibeasts in September. We explored the school grounds in search of minibeasts and discovered spiders, woodlice, wasps, craneflies, earthworms, slugs and many more.
