Karate - Active Schools Week

Brian from Tyrrelstown Karate Club came in yesterday to kindly teach a taster session of Karate.  The children really enjoyed their session and learnt lots of impressive new moves.

Glendalough Sponsored Walk - June 2022

So proud of all of our hikers.  We had a fantastic day!

Special Thanks

Picture
We would like to give special thanks to Super Valu Tyrrelstown and Pizza Hut Tyrrelstown for their generous support of our sponsored walk to Glendalough National Park.  Super Valu provided the treats for the walk while Pizza Hut generously provided vouchers for prizes for competitions during our fundraising.

Trip to Kilmainham Jail - 3rd May

After learning about the 1916 Easter Rising, the children enjoyed a trip to Kilmainham Jail.

It was extra special to visit the jail on May 3rd, as this was the 106 year wedding anniversary of Joseph Mary Plunkett and Grace Gifford who were married in the chapel there.

The first executions of the signatories also took place there on May 3rd.

Gymnastics in the PE Hall

Special thanks to Ms. Cullinan for organising.  We had lots of fun!

Gardening Spring 2022

The children have been working hard in the garden, weeding the raised beds, filling the compost bins, sowing Dahlia bulbs, finding worms and watering pots.
Well done to the boys and girls who dressed up today!

World Book Day 2022

The Civil Rights Movement

In February, the children were learning about about Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King.  The children made timelines, posters and portraits.

Tom Crean an Antarctic Explorer

For the month of January, we explored the theme of Antarctica and read the book by Michael Smith "Tom Crean; An Antarctic Explorer".

Here are some photos of our classroom displays.  The children worked collaboratively to create our Antarctic display.
